Dublin Diaries: Day 2

What's the craic?

Day two saw us visiting Dublin city centre to explore the city and visit some sites. It was one of three days where we went into the city while we were in Ireland.

So, our next stop on our journey brought us to fair old Dublin! We actually stayed in an Airbnb outside of Dublin in county Meath at Dunboyne. It was cheaper to stay outside of the city and the public transport brought us into the city centre in forty minutes or less (depending on traffic and delays).

Hello, hello!

I guess you can tell from the title that this post is the last one in regards to mine and Vannie's time in glorious Glasgow. Without further ado, here is what happened during our last couple days...

First stop: Glasgow

Hello, hello!

So, as I mentioned in my previous post, I'm doing a bit of travelling this summer with my friend Vannie. Our first stop on our trip after leaving London has been Glasgow, Scotland. It has been quite an eventful trip so far. Let's have a look at what has transpired since coming to Glasgow...

Day 1: Arrived in Glasgow after a NINE hour coach ride from London. We were so excited to finally be off the bus and thought we knew where to go, only to get lost looking for the bus to get to where we were staying. After having wandered around for half an hour, we headed back to the bus station to ask where to catch the 77 bus that we needed. Wouldn't you know it, the stop was directly at the bus station! I will now make it a point of asking at our point of entrance into the next cities exactly where to catch our transport needed to get to where we're staying.

We finally get to the house we're staying at only to realise that both of our mobiles are dead and we forget the code to get into the house! Yes folks, this definitely was off to a great start. Haha.

We finally manage to get the code correct and head inside to settle in after our day of travelling.

Day 2: Vannie and I decided to explore Glasgow by hopping on random buses. We ventured outside of Glasgow and then had to find our way back home. I must say, that that was one of my favourite days. Honestly, if you ever get the chance to just ride buses through a city (even your hometown!) definitely do it. You get to see bits of the city that you may not have known were there.

We also attended a CS (Couchsurfing) meet up at a bar in Glasgow called Hummingbird Bar. It was a nice way to end our day and to meet other people in the city who have now become friends.

Day 3: LOCH NESS TOUR DAY!! We did a Highland's, Glencoe and Loch Ness day tour that was amazing! We had the best driver/tour guide and made many unscheduled stops at places he knew about that were absolutely stunning! 

While at Loch Ness, we chose to do the castle and boat ride option and it was lovely. A bit chilly and wet as it was raining off and on all day but good. I would definitely recommend doing the tour with Stephen of Timberbush Tours if you're ever in Glasgow. You will not regret it!

Day 4: We decided to take it easy on day four since we've been on the go since arriving in Glasgow. We decided to explore  some of the landmarks and museums around the city. Lots of walking but nothing was rushed. We ended the day with a meal at Pizza Express and a couple of cold ciders.

Day 5: We had gone to bed around 3 am on day four because our bodies are refusing to get on a schedule. So, because of that, we both had a lie in until about 11 am. We got up, headed out to do some small errands, came home and got ready to go to a Scottish ceilidh that we were invited to. 

I ended up doing two rounds of different dances with a bunch of random people and had the best time ever! When will I get the chance to dance at a ceilidh in Scotland again? 

The ceilidh is every Saturday and hosted by a woman on CS Glasgow who is the most amazing lady you'll meet! Full of life, laughs and stories that will keep you enthralled all night long!

That is what we have been up to for the last five days. Today is day six but we haven't begun our day yet. Vannie is still sleeping and I'm awake.

Besides our activities and full days, we've also had to contend with our accommodation being cancelled at our next stop. It was not fun at all to deal with because whenever we thought we found a place at first, the person would try to screw us over again! It was a nightmare especially as we leave Glasgow in two days time. 

We did end up finding a really lovely lady to stay with who I communicated with and helped us a ton with all the questions I had. That's one huge stressor taken away. Now it's back to enjoying the last few days in Glasgow.

I will try to get photos on my posts as soon as I work out the best way to do so. I am currently using my mobile to write and update because I didn't bring the laptop since we're backpacking.

Where Have I Been?

Ahoy-hoy!

I have been completely missing for ages. I know, I know...that isn't any way to run a blog. However, life got in the way and I haven't been able to post.

I've been dealing with health issues (which I still have no answers for at all), started a new job, in-and-out of A&E and also travelling since I've been cleared for a small trip by my doctor. Phew! Quite a bit indeed!

I am travelling at the moment and would very much like to share with you my travels as they happen. A glimpse of what my friend Vannie and I are up to as we travel around the UK and bits of Europe.

I am in Glasgow as I type this post. Yeah, it's kind of awesome...:-P

2014 in All Its Glory

Hey Y'all!

I have been completely MIA lately because I have been dealing with quite a lot on my end. I have been finishing up yet another course I decided to take here that needs to be completed by April 1st,2014; as well as trying to get in as much traveling as possible to satisfy my wanderlust for the time being because my time in the UK is coming to an end. 

I have been here for nearly two years and let me tell you, it has NOT been an easy road. There have been highs and lows but overall, I have loved every minute of it. Living abroad has helped me learn things about myself that I never knew before. It has also enabled me to further crossing off some things I have listed on my Bucket List. 

To say that 2014 has started of memorable for me would be an understatement. I went through a massive low-point at the beginning of the year but am focused on getting back to a good place once again and not letting what happened hold me back or keep me down. I am in the process of testing out products I bought during a Feel-Better-Shopping-Trip haul. I will be posting photos of the items in a haul post and writing the reviews soon after more use of the products. 

I will also be posting about my hair care routine and the changes I have made yet again for this crazy London weather. Also, I have been wearing my hair straight for the past couple weeks and will be posting about my experience straightening and photos of my hair straight as well. 

I also have to fill you all in on my travels throughout the UK that have been feeding my wanderlust greatly while having me add even MORE places to My Bucket List. Speaking of bucket lists, do any of you have a bucket list? Whether it be travel related or life related. Comment below with a few objectives on your bucket list. I am very curious to see what others want to accomplish within their lives. 

Anywho, this will be it for right now as it is wash day for me and my hair is calling me to clean her. I hope you have all been having a phenomenal start to 2014 and cannot wait to get back to writing normally!

Let's Get This Party Started

Hey y'all!

I am currently on my way to Scotland for Hogmanay as I write this. It is billed as the biggest new years street party in Europe and I intend to see whether or not the title is a well earned one.

I will be gone for four days and plan on taking as many photos as humanly possibe. After returning from Scotland, I am heading to southwest UK. Busy week filled with travelling. I will have some posts up once I return to London.

How are you planning to ring in the new year? Any way that you choose to celebrate, I hope you all have an amazing New Years!

Life, Makeup & Jobs - Oh My!

Hey Y'all!

Firstly, please allow me to apologize profusely for my four month hiatus. I have been busy once again with moving, doing makeup and teaching. Your girl is constantly on the go and the thought of coming home to write and publish a post was hugely daunting to me. So, clearly, I chose not to post and to take a break. However, my self-imposed (and well needed!) break has come to an end and I am back and ready to go!

I have been working in schools teaching while here in the UK which would keep anybody busy. I work mainly with special needs children which is highly rewarding but very tiring. 

I have also been honing my makeup skills by getting in practice whenever I possibly can on other people. I have so far done makeup for a friend who was getting married as well as other friends who had call for my makeup abilities. I did not get any photos of the bridal makeup I did because we were running late after hair so I did not have time. I will start documenting my progression more thoroughly moving forward and posting the photos on the blog. 

I am currently working on a review post for you all and will post it as soon as I have it ready. Until then, I will continue to post as much as possible and will post about my upcoming trip to Scotland as well.
